Come on Come on Let's Stick Together...

I'm trying to get my head around all of these online social networking thingumybobs and as there are so many involved I am trying to get them all connected! Keeping in mind I've had a bad cold for the past few days and between that and meds my head is a bit fuzzy so don't yell at me if I break them all! LOL

Soooo we have our FaceBook page changed to the new style: http://www.facebook.com/HandyWoodcrafts

Our twitter page: http://twitter.com/HandyWoodcrafts

and of course this blog.

Sooooo, IF I have done this right, this blog should show up on all 3! Wish me luck xxx

Customers!

I was going through some old paper work today and I came accross an A4 sheet printed out with this quote that I used to keep in my diary when I worked as a car sales person so I thought I would just share the quote.

M K Gandhi.  Born in 1869 and died in 1948

I am pretty sure if he lived today he would also say the same of a customer using the internet.

Strange week

I have started blogging and thats been strange to start of with. It's not as easy as some people make out, having to think of something to say on your blog hurts the brain cell (yup I did say brain cell lol) and working out where the text goes when adding a picture really pushed me to the limits. You also have to not sound droll, I hope I'm getting there. So anyway I have joined in with Wendy who started Handmade Monday from 1stuniquegifts blog and now a group of great people on the craft forum are networking their blogs just follow the link back to Wendys page for a list of everyone who is involved.

Ok back to business: This week I eventually got round to making a trench bowl of sorts except I called it a trough.

I received a call a few weeks ago asking if I could possibly make trench bowls so after a bit of research I decided that untill I can get a special blade to make solid bowls out of 1 piece of timber I would attempt to make one out of planks and try and make it look old. and this is the result.

The idea is to use it as a photo prop where you can put a baby into it along with fancy blankets and all sorts of soft materials. Hopefully I will get some more feedback regarding these in the weeks to come.

I also sent some wooden blocks of to a photographer on Thursday these are 5"x5"x1" and are to be used for mounting her work onto to either be displayed free standing or hung on a wall.

I cant wait to see the finished article.

Now last but not least I want to thank Francesca from Silverthistle beads who dedicated the 2nd of feb to support a local woodturner day. She blogged about us and both myself and my wife really appreciated it. I have also been picking her and her hubbys brains this week about business stuff and they have both helped immensely. She even sent me a message about fallen trees after the high winds so she deserves a big virtual hug.

Silverthistle Beads will be attending the Scottish bead fair in Perth on the 13th of March If you are in the area or are attending it to stock up you should go along and say hi and have a look at her stock.

Phew I think I'm done and yup its Monday now!
